Credit Checks

Requires. Account Management with View to see the add-on. Account Management with Modify is required to enable or disable it. Credit bureau setup requires Integrations with View, plus Create for new bureaus or Modify for existing bureaus.

Credit Checks lets your company run and store customer credit checks in SecurityTrax. Credit checks can support financing decisions, contract pricing, lead routing, and collections workflows.

Why you want it

  • Users can run credit checks from the customer Credit tab.
  • Credit scores, grades, and reports stay attached to the customer record.
  • Manual entries let you record approved credit checks that were obtained outside SecurityTrax.
  • Credit bureau provider setup is managed from the Credit Bureaus integration page.

Enable Credit Checks

  1. Go to Admin → Account Management → Add-ons.
  2. Find Credit Checks.
  3. Click Enable.
  4. Read the billing confirmation.
  5. Click Confirm.

After enabling the add-on, go to Admin → Integrations → Credit Bureaus to add or manage credit bureau providers. The New Credit Bureau button and bureau list are hidden until Credit Checks is enabled.

Set up credit bureaus after enabling

  1. Go to Admin → Integrations.
  2. Click Credit Bureaus.
  3. Click New Credit Bureau.
  4. Choose the Credit Bureau Type.
  5. Complete the fields shown for the selected provider. The fields vary by credit bureau type.
  6. Click Save.

Use credit checks from a customer

  1. Open a customer record.
  2. Click Credit in the customer's header tab bar. The page heading is Credit Reports.
  3. Click + Run Credit.
  4. Complete the credit check form.
  5. Click Run Credit.

If your company has a manual-entry credit bureau configured, users can choose Manual Entry instead of running a live bureau request.

Disable Credit Checks

  1. Go to Admin → Account Management → Add-ons.
  2. Find Credit Checks.
  3. Click Disable.
  4. Click Confirm.

Warning. Disabling Credit Checks hides customer credit check tools and credit bureau setup. It does not delete credit checks that were already saved on customer records.
