My Inventory Overview

Requires.

  • You are set up as a field tech on at least one location (isTechAnywhere), and
  • You have View Personal Inventory.

If either is missing, the page returns a 403 and My Inventory does not appear in your user dropdown.

If you're a field tech, My Inventory is your view of the equipment SecurityTrax thinks you have — what's on your truck right now, what's on the way, and how that stacks up against the minimums your company expects you to keep on hand. Every inventory action (counting, ordering more, transferring to a peer, logging a loss) starts from this page.

A few terms before we dive in

  • On Hand — equipment physically in your possession (in your truck, in your workshop).
  • On Order — equipment that's been requested or approved to order, but hasn't arrived yet.
  • Base — a target minimum your company wants you to maintain for each equipment type. Set by your admin. Used for restock suggestions and reports — the app does not stop you from going under base; it just tells you.
  • Collection — a grouping of equipment used for sale packages. Collection items don't have their own independent stock and are skipped on this page.

Getting here

  • Open the user menu in the top-right corner and click My Inventory.
  • Click the Inventory icon in the top navigation bar (if visible for your role).
  • Or navigate directly to https://portal.securitytrax.com/{your-company}/home/inventory.

The page layout

The inventory area is structured around a small row of tabs at the top of the screen. Every inventory page shares this same header, so you can jump between tabs without going back.

Tab Goes to Covers
Home (active on this page) home.inventory.index Your personal equipment list — this page.
POs home.inventory.pos Purchase Requisitions & Orders — request more equipment and track what's being ordered for you.
Transfers home.inventory.transfers Transfers — move equipment between you and other people or locations.
Spillage home.inventory.spillage Spillage — log damaged, lost, or unaccounted equipment.

Directly above the table on this page is a heading block with:

  • Section title: "Personal Inventory".
  • Badges on the right: On Hand: N (only if your account can see on-hand numbers) and On Order: N. These are your company-wide totals across every equipment type.
  • Primary button (top-right): Perform Physical Inventory — starts the physical-count audit flow. See Physical Inventory.

Just below the heading is a two-position toggle:

  • On Hand Inventory — hide equipment types you have zero units of. Good for day-to-day use.
  • All Inventory — show every equipment type in the catalog, even ones you've never stocked. Good when you're trying to add a new item to your truck.

The table

One row per equipment type, alphabetically. Each row shows:

  • # (only if your account can see on-hand counts) — a green badge with your current on-hand count for that item.
  • Equipment name — clickable. Click to drill into the full Equipment Detail page for that item, which shows every transfer, receipt, and spillage that affected your count.
    • Below the name, if your on-hand is greater than zero or you have a base for the item, two small inline attributes appear:
      • On Order: N (only when there's something on the way).
      • Base: N (only when a base is set).

If there's nothing in the table, the page shows an empty-state message. That means the filter setting plus your counts produced no rows — try switching to All Inventory to see the full catalog.

Note. If you don't see an On Hand column at all, your company has restricted which techs can see their own on-hand counts. The column hides entirely in that mode, but On Order stays visible. Ask your administrator if you believe you should be seeing on-hand numbers.

Workflow at a glance

  • Morning check-in. Land on this page, compare to what's on your truck. Anything off? Log it in Spillage or request a Transfer to rebalance with a peer.
  • Preparing for a big day. Compare to the Equipment Needed section on My Appointments. Short on something? Submit a Purchase Requisition.
  • End of quarter. Click Perform Physical Inventory and walk through everything to reconcile the books. See Physical Inventory.
