Connected Accounts
The Connected Accounts page is where you link your SecurityTrax user to your accounts on integrated third-party services. Once linked, SecurityTrax can perform authenticated actions in those systems as you — most notably transparent single-sign-on into provider admin tools so you don't have to re-log in separately.
Depending on what your company has configured, you may see sections for:
- Brinks / Monitronics — for companies using Brinks (formerly Monitronics) as a monitoring provider.
- Alarm.com — for companies using Alarm.com as an interactive services provider.
If your company has neither enabled, this page is mostly empty.
The page heading is "Connected Accounts".
Getting here
- From any Settings page, click Connected Accounts in the Settings sub-nav.
- Or navigate directly to
https://portal.securitytrax.com/acme/settings/connected-accounts.
Brinks / Monitronics section
Only shown if your company has Brinks (or Monitronics) configured as a monitoring company.
The section heading is the name of the monitoring provider (e.g. "Brinks" or "Monitronics").
A table lists each Brinks/Monitronics monitoring company your company has configured (one company per row). Each row has three columns:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Monitoring Company | The monitoring company's display name and an ID badge. |
| Username | Your Brinks/Monitronics username (editable text input). |
| Password | Your Brinks/Monitronics password (masked password input). If a password is already saved, the placeholder reads "(password saved)". |
Editing Brinks credentials — step by step
Requires. User Accounts with Modify. Without it, the fields show as read-only and the Save button is hidden.
- Enter your Username for the given monitoring company.
- Enter your Password. If you only want to update the username (leaving the existing password in place), leave the password field blank — blank means "keep what's saved."
- Click Save.
- SecurityTrax sends the credentials to Brinks' API. On success, you see the success toast "Your changes have been saved."
- On failure (invalid credentials, API down), you'll see one or more warning toasts with the specific Brinks error.
Alarm.com section
Only shown if your company has at least one Alarm.com interactive services provider configured. Also hidden if your account has the View User Account Information restriction.
The section heading is "Alarm.com" with the subheading:
"Linking your accounts enables transparent transitions between SecurityTrax and Alarm.com"
Each Alarm.com provider your company has configured renders as its own card.
Card header
- Provider name and ID badge (e.g. "Alarm.com #7").
Connected-status callout
If your SecurityTrax user is already linked to the provider, a green success callout reads:
- Heading: "Your account is connected".
- Body: "Your Alarm.com (ID: 7) and SecurityTrax accounts are already connected. If something is not working, you can re-connect your accounts below by entering your Alarm.com credentials."
If you're not yet linked, no callout appears.
Credentials form
| Field | Required? | Type | Validation | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Username | Yes | Text | — | Your Alarm.com username. |
| Password | Yes | Password | — | Masked input. |
| Two Factor Device ID | No | Text | — | If your Alarm.com account uses 2FA, enter the device ID here. Your Alarm.com admin can tell you what to enter. |
Action buttons
Two buttons in the card footer:
- Disconnect (left, red danger variant) — only shown if you're already linked. Removes the stored token. On success: "Successfully unlinked.". On failure: "Unable to unlink.".
- Connect (right, primary zinc) — always shown. Uses the credentials you entered to obtain an Alarm.com auth token and store it against your SecurityTrax user. On success: "Successfully linked.". On failure: a warning toast with the exception message from Alarm.com.
Step-by-step — connecting your Alarm.com account
- In the Username field, enter your Alarm.com username.
- In the Password field, enter your Alarm.com password.
- If your Alarm.com account has 2FA enabled, enter your Two Factor Device ID.
- Click Connect.
- SecurityTrax calls Alarm.com to authenticate. On success you get the green "connected" callout and a success toast.
- Going forward, SecurityTrax uses your stored token for Alarm.com API calls — mostly to enable single-sign-on into Alarm.com's admin UI when you click through from a customer's Connections tab.
Step-by-step — re-connecting after credential change
If you change your Alarm.com password outside SecurityTrax, the stored token stops working. To re-link:
- Your account will still show as "connected" but actions will fail. (There's no automatic detection.)
- Enter your new Username and Password on this page.
- Click Connect — this overwrites the old token with a new one.
No need to Disconnect first; Connect replaces the existing token.
