Work Order Templates

A work-order template is a set of default values that gets applied to a new work order — saving you from re-entering the same type, assignee, equipment, and notes every time you create a common work order such as a Standard Install or a Disconnect.

How a template fills in a new work order
When you create a work order on a customer and choose a template, SecurityTrax copies the template's defaults into the new work order's form:
- Task Type, Work Order Type, Subject, and Details populate the matching fields.
- Assigned To resolves any role default (for example, Install Technician) to the customer's actual technician.
- Equipment selects the matching equipment rows for the chosen action.
The Details value fills the work order's Details field — the same field where you'd otherwise type the work-order notes by hand. You can edit any pre-filled value before saving.
