Equipment Types

Requires. Administration Page; Equipment with Create, Modify, or Delete for changes.

The top-level classification applied to every individual equipment item. Types let you group equipment for reporting, pricing, and for choosing installation-time templates (e.g. "any panel needs a primary and backup contact").

  • From Admin → Catalogs, click Equipment Types.
  • Or go directly to https://portal.securitytrax.com/acme/admin/cms/equipment-types.

Edit form

Field Required? Type Validation Notes
Name Yes Text 1–255 characters "Panel", "Motion Sensor", "Camera", etc.
Active No Checkbox Defaults to checked. Inactive types stay on existing equipment but don't appear when classifying new items.
